Albania exhibits Millennium Development Goal photos on IVD
05 December 2002

Tirana: The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations Volunteer (UNV) and the Albanian Youth Council today held a photo exhibit depicting volunteerism and the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

The MDGs are eight development goals that the United Nations has identified and aims to achieve by 2015. Among the objectives are to "eradicate extreme poverty and hunger" and provide "universal primary education".

The exhibit featured the works of Italian UN Volunteer Nicola Tiezzi and Roland Tasho from Albania. It included nine panels, the first two explaining the MDGs, seven panels for the photos and a free space on each panel for comments, mostly from students.

The activity was held in an underground space of the Qemal Stafa High School, which was reconstructed through help of volunteers.
