Australian Volunteers International will celebrate the work and commitment of its volunteers with the launch of its new full colour coffee table book "A Place in the World: Stories from Australian Volunteers International" on International Volunteer Day, 5 December.
The book "A Place in the World" shows the world through the eyes of AVI volunteers documenting their stories and images from the past 56 years. From the remote islands of New Guinea to the thriving cities of Phnom Penh and Hanoi to the refugee camps of Lebanon, Australian volunteers have responded to the events that have shaped our world over the last five decades. Images from the book will be exhibited in QANTAS airport lounges in Melbourne and Sydney and returned volunteer events in all Australian capital cities throughout December.
