Pakistan's National Volunteer Movement (NVM
) and Community Support Programme (CSP) have signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) to advocate volunteerism and promote training programmes for volunteers.
The MoU was signed by Zia-ul-Haq, Director General National Volunteer Movement and Asif Noor, Director Community Support Program.
It was announced that both the organization would jointly engage the youth in the fields of health, sports and education specially drugs abuse, HIV and AIDS.
They will support each other in the activities for the volunteerism, youth empowerment issues and environment development projects all over country.
The CSP has already been working in all these fields whereas NVM is engaged for the promotion of volunteerism in the country.
The registered volunteers are mobilized help in social work, community development projects and disaster emergency management. National Disaster Management Authority has also recognized the role of NVM volunteers in these activities.
The two organizations decided to jointly execute community awareness programme, development projects, advocacy campaigns for the promotion of volunteerism and youth empowerment all over country.
It was agreed that CSP will organize sports events and "Clean Pakistan" campaign in the selected districts of the country. NVM will provide technical support in training, workshop and seminar programmes.
