Waigani, Papua New Guinea:
The uplifting, flexible energy of our kids will fill Sir John Guise Stadium in Waigani on 4 December, as families mark World AIDS Day and International Volunteers Day.
"The enthusiasm and generosity of youth will make the arts festival a rare event" said Jim Chalmers of UN Volunteers. "Our kids are a source of great originality, and they’ll introduce us to some very interesting ideas about HIV and AIDS."
"We’ll hear some talented artists, like Patti Doi, but also some very, very good youthful performers from our schools and youth groups. Kids flexibility and generosity gives them the advantage in the situation of HIV/AIDS that concerns them closely.”
“Next Saturday, they’ll rap and sing about their sexual relationships. They’ll break down the walls, being creative so this energy is compatible with AIDS goals.”
