Why doesn’t UN allow to send volunteers to Somalia, I think that is the question. And even if they are afraid of Somalia why don’t they try sending people like me instead who are willing to go.
Why don’t we have in the UNDP office in Somalia a department which is specialized in Somali volunteers I think we have the right just like the other nations

It seems to me that UN doesn't care about somalia. There are many countries that are more dangerous than Somalia like Sudan and still there thousands of Volunteers.

I agree with all of you guys, i think we should do something about it instead of just sitting here, i don't know a lot about this system, BUT can't we set up our own volunteering company and get sponsor??

Shaadya, you got a point! I do agree with that we need to set up our own system of volunteering, BUT we need to make double efforts to do that! we have storm the brain and do something for our people. we shouldn't have to worry about the sponsor, it will come automatically!

It's a question that remained in my mind unanswered many years; am so pleased to get the same question posted. to me the UN doesn't interest in Somalia, so let's wake up, make our own web page and post post SOMALI VOLUNTEERS NEEDED.
