Port of Spain: The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) and the UN Development Programme (UNDP) will launch a documentary film on how volunteers help achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in the country to commemorate International Volunteer Day, 5 December in Trinidad and Tobago.
The film would highlight the work of more than 70 UN Volunteers in the country, specifically those working in the fields of medicine, ICT and engineering, and their contributions to the MDGs.
Other activities include a medical outreach with the Ministry of Health; an exhibit hosted by volunteer-based non-governmental organizations in Suriname; and a discussion forum on volunteering in universities in collaboration with the University of West Indies.
