A day at Serenity Place

Port Fortin, Trinidad: In the spirit of promoting and encouraging volunteerism, a group of UNV volunteers visited 'Serenity Place'. Though an impromptu idea, the group made a small contribution in the form of gift hampers and a First Aid kit.   Read article

Trinidad and Tobago organizes volunteer fair to mark IVD 
Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago: A "Volunteer Fair" will be held in Trinidad and Tobago to mark International Volunteer Day, in the capital Port of Spain. The event will bring together several volunteer-involving and non-profit organizations and advocate volunteerism for development in the country.  Read article

I remember it was one of the very first days of my work that one old man who was attending the Chronic Disease Clinic came to me. When I started to examine him, he told me, "Doctor, God bless you, doctor!" I was surprised: "Thanks, but I have done nothing for you yet!" He replied, "I am attending this clinic for more than 20 years and this is the first time a doctor is putting stethoscope on my chest!"  Read article
