Volunteers recognized and feted on IVD in Kampala
Kampala, Uganda: At the end of the Week of Volunteerism in commemoration of International Volunteer Day 2008, featuring advocacy activities, a United Nations Volunteers programme workshop, a march to show cause for volunteerism, and the renovation of a Children’s Ward at Mulago Hospital, volunteers were feted with a Volunteer Cocktail Party at the Imperial Royal Hotel, Kampala.

Mt. Elgon Self-Help project (Uganda)
Mt. Elgon Self-Help Community Project is a registered non-governmental and community based organization in Uganda that was established in 2004 to respond to the problems faced by children, families and communities in the sub counties of Bumbo and Bumwoni, Manafwa District. Our interventions are mainly in four areas that include; HIV/AIDS, poverty, gender-based violence and environmental degradation.

Uganda: United Way for the Needy
Kampala, Uganda: United Way, a non-governmental organisation based in the US has opened a charity branch in Uganda last Friday. United Way who focuses mainly on volunteering to help the unprivileged, has been in Uganda for the last two years but was yet to be formally launched.
