Kent, UK: Charitable folk can now donate both their money and time to good causes at online donation fundraising service GiveNow.org. The website, which launched in 2002, has added a new section that lets you search for volunteering oppportunities across the UK.

Aiming to encourage more people to give their time to charity, the section lets you search an extensive database for volunteer opportunities depending on location, type of cause, and activity.

"Through volunteering, people learn new skills, meet new people, and generally feel as though they're doing something of value," said Sarah Hughes, head of new media at Charities Aid Foundation, which hosts GiveNow.org.

GiveNow.org says it has generated over £230,000 in donations since its launch, with the average gift being £75. It is founded by Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) and The AOL Time Warner Foundation, supported by AOL UK.
