'Volunteering for our Planet' comes to Abeche by Filippo Busconi, UNV Project and Advocacy Officer, N'Djamena
Abeche, Chad: International Volunteer Day (IVD) was celebrated in Abeche, Eastern Chad with fervour and enthusiasm. Since the inception of the UNV programme in Chad, this was the first opportunity for IVD celebrations to take place in Abeche instead of N’Djamena, the capital city.

Voluntary environmental action exceeds 1.5 million hours
Bonn, Germany: Thousands of volunteers around the world have registered more than 1.5 million hours of effort to tackle climate change and other environmental issues, as part of a campaign to promote International Volunteer Day on 5 December.
The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme launched the global campaign 'Volunteering for our Planet' to promote voluntary effort for the environment.

Global Call for Action: IYV+10
