Volunteers celebration week in Turkey
07 December 2005, 18:28
by Betul Bozkurt

On 5 December 2005, the entire world is celebrating International Volunteer Day. We at Citigroup Turkey, planned to celebrate our volunteers and those who wish to join volunteering. For this aim, we organized Citigroup Turkey Volunteers Celebration Week.

Our volunteer week has begun with Volunteers Photos Exhibition. The exhibition, including photos of various activities of Citigroup Turkey volunteers, honored our volunteers so much and attracted the interest of our colleagues. At the same time we had The Non Profit Organisations Exhibition too . The members of our 7 partner non profit organisations had stands and met with our volunteers. There was also a little surprise for our volunteers. Each of our volunteers who had his "I'm a Citigroup volunteer" pin, had given an apple as the Volunteer Day gift. Our volunteers enjoyed their day, and had lots of fun. After the exhibitions, the country business managers of Citigroup Turkey met with our volunteers and thanked them for their contributions to the community.

Citigroup Turkey Volunteers Week continues with meetings with Non Profit Organisations. Womens Entrepreneurs Association, Junior Achievement Foundation, Turkish Education Volunteers Foundation, Beriköy-Yay Foundation, Foundation for Support of Womens Work, Mother and Child Education Foundation and Corporate Volunteer Association's representatives will hold meeetings with our volunteers and introduce their projects. We celebrate the Volunteer Day of every volunteers in the world, and invite everybody to volunteer!

best regards,

I am not surpriset to find my own citizens in this very useful organization. I myself wonder if I can be of any help with this organization both in my country and abroad.

CONGRATULATIONS & GOOD LUCK

I am working in the field of youth work and volunteerism in Turkey for 7 years, but never heard of Citigroup Volunteers. Dear Betul can you kindly give some info about your organization?
