Bermuda declares 5 December 'National Volunteer Day'
Hamilton, Bermuda: The Centre on Philanthropy in Bermuda is partnering with the government of Bermuda to make IVD an offical national celebration - Bermuda's inaugural National Volunteer Day. The day, 5 December, will be proclaimed as National Volunteer Day from the steps of City Hall during a special ceremony, which will include government officials, corporate sponsor representatives and charities.

Online volunteering organisation Native Planet celebrates IVD for the first time by Elaine Glen
Native Planet is an entirely ‘virtual’ organisation, based on the work of its online volunteers. It can be challenging at times to recognise the volunteers achievements in a ‘web-based’ work environment. However native planet came up with a number of ideas to celebrate International Volunteer Day for the first time.
