We have started preparations since last month for this year's IVD celebration in Cambodia. The UN Volunteers have unanimously decided to highlight the event through a celebration that would feature a concert of songs about volunteerism - wherein volunteer songs that were composed in 2001 as part of IYV event then would be interpreted by volunteers not only from UNV but from other local and foreign volunteer organizations in Cambodia (like VSO, VSA, KOICA, AYADP and others), dance numbers would be rendered by a group of volunteer PLHAs (people living with AIDS) and sharing of testimonies from selected volunteers - as to how volunteerism has changed their lives.

The celebration is to be coupled with an exhibit of photos of volunteers in action, distribution of materials and other document on volunteerism produced by the participating volunteer organizations and display/sale of products made by volunteers.

Among the list guests are the heads of UN agencies in Cambodia, representatives from UNV host organizations, colleagues from UNDP, all UNVs, and representative number from the different volunteer organizations in Cambodia.
