14 November 2005

Šentjur, Slovenia: For this year's International Volunteer Day, the volunteer-involving organization International Relief Friendship Foundation  (IRFF) Slovenia and the municipality of Šentjur announced that they will present the "Volunteer 2005" awards to young people.

Youth volunteers who have made exemplary contribution to the development of their respective communities and nominated by civil society organizations, will receive this special award. The mayor of Šentjur is also urging government institutions and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to nominate individual volunteers.

The awarding ceremony, coupled with exhibit on volunteering, will be held in Šentjur cultural hall in December 2005.

IRFF Slovenia is one of the 85 IRFF chapters around the world. Headquartered in New York, IRFF extensively employs young volunteers in their poverty, health and environmental projects worldwide.
