Kenyan National Co-ordinating Committee for IYV 2001

The committee comprises of members from the following organizations:
1. Office of the President
2. Ministry of Finance and Planning
3. Ministry of Home Affairs, Heritage and Sports
4. Ministry of Foreign Affairs
5. National Council of Non-Governmental Organizations
6. Institute for Education in Democracy
7. Institute for Development Studies, University of Nairobi
8. United Nations Development Programme
9. United Nations Children's Fund
10. Volunteer Action Committee (representing all volunteer sending agencies)
11. National Council of Churches of Kenya
12. Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims
13. United Nations Volunteers

The first meeting was held on 13/06/2000, and decided to focus the IYV activities on malaria.

Theme:
The theme for the Kenyan IYV 2001 will be 'Voluntarism for the Eradication of Malaria', and in Kiswahili 'Kujitolea 2001'

The committee will drive the whole process. However, three sub-committees were formed as follows:
1. Planning
2. Fund raising
3. Publicity / Marketing
