Pour les organisations qui ont recours aux volontaires et pour les volontaires eux-mêmes, la Journée internationale des Volontaires (JIV) est l’occasion de mettre en commun le travail, les projets et campagnes afin de promouvoir les contributions respectives au développement social et économique au niveau local, national et international.

Journée Internationale des Volontaires 2007 au Bénin
Cotonou, Bénin: « Volontaires unis pour bâtir un monde meilleur » fut le thème de la Journée internationale des Volontaires célébrée en 2007 au Bénin. Trente-deux volontaires de différentes associations ont participé à un tournoi de football sur la plage de Fidjrossé, soixante-un ont été donneurs de sang au Centre Hospitalier et Universitaire de Cotonou, d’autres ont repeint l’école maternelle publique de Cadjéhoun. Les cérémonies du 5 décembre ont rendu hommage à ces actions de solidarité qui ont concrétisé l’union des volontaires du Bénin. Read article
