Orphans have a day out to mark IVD in Ghana by Augustina Tawiah
Accra, Ghana: Children from the Teshie Orphanage here in Accra had a nice time last Saturday when they went on an excursion to the Accra Zoo and the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park. The excursion, which was part of activities marking the International Volunteer Day, helped the children to learn more about animals.  Read article

Food distribution to street children part of IVD in Nepal by Beatriz Cook
Kathmandu, Nepal: A workshop on voluntarism and MDGs was led by the secretary of the National Planning Commission in Nepalgunj. Fifty participants from the District Development Councils, three NGOs, and volunteers from the government's volunteer arm, the National Development Volunteers Service (NDVS), attended the successful event.  Read entry
