Sichuan Province, China: Sunday is International Children's Day, and this year people around China have one common concern: children in the earthquake-hit regions. We know that many children suffered in the devastating quake but there are still many of them who survived, and they are eager to get back to study and playing with their friends. Children are the most vulnerable group in our community and much attention needs to be paid on them.

On this special day, IFRC staff also visit children who were hurt in the quake. Though children are vulnerable they are innocent and always happy, playing and smiling, and they give people around hope and courage to overcome the difficulties ahead.

We see pupils are studying in the camp school, playing on the ground near the emergency tents, and still interested in everything happening around them. People are suffering from the quake, but the children there are the hopes for reconstruction of homes, towns and spirits. Good luck to the children and happy children’s day.
