Jordan’s Queen Noor planned to be a volunteer

Williamsburg: The widow of Jordan’s King Hussein, Queen Noor, said that she had earlier planned to become a Peace Corps volunteer before joining the royal family. "Strange as it may seem from where I stand now, ...if my life hadn't taken the startling turn it did 25 years ago, I would have become a Peace Corps volunteer," she said during the graduation ceremony of the College of William & Mary in Virginia.
