Guangdong Province, on the southern part of China, has started recruiting volunteers to assist neighbouring country Myanmar in its agricultural and sports projects. The first batch of volunteers will leave on International Volunteer Day, 5 December, for their 6-month stint.
The provice is recruiting agrotechnicians and sports professionals, specifically, swimming, weightlifing and badminton.
Guangdong's volunteers association head Huang Qinghui said that the volunteer agrotechnicians are expected to help Myanmar farmers raise silkworms, grow quality grapes and improve other plants' species.
"Ideally candidates are college graduates between 25 and 40 years old and proficient in English," he added.
