Turin: Organizers of the 20th Olympic Winter Games and Paralympics in Turin are starting to recruit 20,000 volunteers. Some 600 posters and 20,000 pamphlets were distributed in different parts of Turin to publicize the recruitment drive.
The posters depict a schoolteacher drawing the five-circled Olympic symbol on a black-board. In addition, 13 newspapers have run announcements asking candidates to volunteer. To date some 6,000 people have applied to work as volunteers. The campaign was devised by the Omd TecnoMedia company while Turin firm, Fore, was responsible for the creative input. The image will also be projected on the electronic screen at Turin's Delle Alpi stadium.
