Sao Paulo, Brazil: Faça Parte is a Brazilian civil society organization founded in 2001, whose mission is to consolidate a volunteering culture by encouraging the youth participation in the construction of a socially fairer nation.

It promotes service learning experiences to improve education for citizenship and solidarity. The institute's main programme is 'Selo Escola Solidária' (Solidarity School Seal) which identifies and recognizes Brazilian schools experiences committed to an education based in the ideals of citizenship and participation.  

This national programme was recognized by the Innovations in Civic Participation (ICP) report 'Innovations in International Youth Volunteering'. It is a biannual service-learning certification process that encourages projects in schools to build a more socially just nation and enhance the role of the school as a nucleus of community citizenship.

The resources below also give some ideas on how schools can put the UN's Millennium Development Goals into practice.
