Faith in Action, Toward the Achievement of the Millennium Development Goals
25 August 2006

The UN Millennium Campaign (UNMC) and the World Conference of Religions for Peace (WCRP) have developed a toolkit to engage religious leaders and their communities around the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). The 33-page multi-religious toolkit, "Faith in Action, Toward the Achievement of the Millennium Development Goals," introduces the MDGs and the key role of faith communities in advocacy and action to advance development.

The toolkit presents religious principles and warrants related to the MDGs from a variety of faith traditions. It provides concrete steps for action to engage all members of religious communities, including advocating with and monitoring governments, linking to other civil society actors and campaigns, and making use of the media. Also included are replicable "handouts" for educational outreach in religious and inter-religious settings.
