International Youth Volunteering report
22 February 2008
by V In 2007, ICP conducted a study of innovative youth volunteer programs based on 22 case studies from 17 countries around the world. The study was commissioned by v, a UK-based volunteering charity. The final report “International Youth Volunteering” has now been published and is available here. This report provides analysis of three main critical elements for effective youth volunteering -- innovation, replicability and sustainability. The 22 case studies accompanying this report demonstrate that empowering young people – not just the usual suspects, but young people who are themselves marginalized and excluded – is the most important factor for innovation in youth volunteering.
